TSP: provides fixed-line telecommunications services in the State of Sao Paulo. The Company provides multimedia communication services, such as audio, video, data, voice and other sounds, images, texts, and other information. As of December 31, 2007, its regional telephone network included approximately 14.6 million fixed lines, including public telephone lines, of which 12 million lines were in service. Of the access lines in service, approximately 77.3% were residential, 17.6% were commercial, 2.1% were public telephone lines, and 3% were for the Company's own use and testing. The Company's services consist of local services, intraregional, interregional and international long-distance services; data services; pay television (TV) services, and network services. It provides interconnection services to cellular service providers and other fixed telecommunications companies through the use of its network.

The Company provides wireline services, which include fixed-line telephone services for residential and non-residential customers, leased lines, unbundled local loop access and wholesale line rental, interconnection, Internet access, data and business solutions, portal and e-commerce services through its subsidiaries, in particular PT Comunicacoes, S.A.. It offers mobile telecommunications services, such as voice, data and Internet-related services in Portugal through its subsidiary, TMN-Telecomunicacoes Movies Nacionais, S.A. (TMN) and in Brazil through its 50%-owned joint venture, Vivo Participacoes S.A. (Vivo).
